Vegan black lace steampunk ankle boots

Vegan women's steampunk boots Steampunk has got a bit of catching up to do before it offers good choices for the fashionable vegan, but as it becomes more popular, the alternative vegan shoe staple companies are catching on and putting out more offerings. Sadly, this is a double edged sword as it means that, well, steampunk is now mainstream. On the other hand, if you like the style then you can actually now rock something cruelty-free and still look pretty cool.

So here we have another style from TUK who’ve already given us some nice Victorian-style boots. These are lovingly named “A7999L” and no, that isn’t some l33t speak or futuristic fantasy name, but a dull model number. Couldn’t they have come up with some fancy name for them? Oh well, at least they’ve got frills on the actual shoe, as well as nicely gothic lace panels and girlie scalloped bits.

The platform look may be more 1970s than 1870s but beggars can’t be choosers. These will fit a girlie steampunk or Victorian outfit nicely.

Get them at Endless.com.

Vegan Victorian ankle boots #2

Vegan victorian ankle boots You wait for ages for vegan Victorian ankle boots and then two pairs come along at once…

These are from Miss Selfridge with a pointy toe and a bit of brogue detailing.
The folded over collar looks like you should be able to unfold it and wear it up and it has eyelets and everything. Not sure if it’s all for show, though. If you end up buying them, please let me know!

You can get them from Miss Selfridge.

Cheap vegan steampunk victorian boots

Vegan steampunk bootsLooking for some boots to match with your Victorian / steampunk outfit? Steampunk stuff is generally either super expensive or leather or both but here’s a pair of cheap and simple boots from Marks & Spencer that could do the trick well enough.

As usual with their shoes, don’t expect them to necessarily be a conversation piece of their own accord, but they will fit in with a good outfit and support the look.

They can also double as cute every day boots and they also come in black.

You can get them from M&S.

Vegan steampunk trainers

vegan steampunk trainers OK, I know it’s cheating to write about so many shoes from the same place over one week, but just this one more pair cause they’re so wicked. Vegan steampunk trainers, oh yeah!

I know it’s Valentine’s day, so I should really be writing about some shoes with a heart on them (like the awesome Melissa Dragon Lady), but hey, these are brilliant too and steampunk is (apparently) forever.

Check out the really intricate, delicate gear print. Nice!
I’m also liking the pinstripe / sort of aged, almost parchment combo. So now you can basically still look steampunk even when it’s trainer-weather and you’re in your street clothes looking a different kind of cool. The whole design is at once very modern but also somewhat old-school with the whole Spats look and Victorian charm.

Totally casual and neat and you can be sure no one in your vicinity will own a pair. There are a few other steampunk designs on there that are also worth a look, though these were my favourites so far.

You can get them from Zazzle.

Vegan victorian steampunk boots

I went to see Sherlock Holmes the other day (awww my first childhood hero), so now I’m all about the Victoriana and steampunk boots. I wrote about some steampunk boots already, but I decided to take a look around the net for some more steampunk offerings.
The vegan options don’t always look that great, I must say, sadly. Still, there are some out there that don’t completely suck. Here’s some of what the net has to offer.

vegan steampunk boots #1

First up are these knee-high boots that are supposedly “bohemian” according to the description, but they look pretty steampunk-esque to me. OK, so they don’t have lacing, so probably not for the purists, but the design is still pretty Victorian-looking and would fit in with the period look. Obviously, they also come in black.

You can get them on Amazon.com.

vegan steampunk boots #2 And here is T.U.K’s offering on the classic granny boot. Never ones to miss a trend, T.U.K have had a few Victorian-inspired offerings, including a tongueless granny boot, but this is the most versatile and classic one I’ve seen them do. It’s not nearly as charming as the traditional leather ones but will certainly do the trick and put the finishing touches on your outfit.

Yup, these are also available at Amazon.com.

vegan granny shoes For more choice in Vegan Victorian and steampunk boots for men and women, you can also try Pennangalan. They have quite a few suitable pairs, including the one featured here, the “Polly Magic”. Magic is the sole and Polly is the upper style, hence the name. They also have variations on the theme in both sole and upper and I do believe you can sometimes order a custom pair out of their material and style combinations (or at least you used to be able to, I haven’t tried in some time). Their shoes are handmade in the UK and usually end up looking and feeling better-made than your average alternative vegan shoe.

Vegan knee-high platform boots with straps and buckles

vegetarian knee-high buckle boots These vegan platform boots are solid, chunky, durable and 100% vegetarian / vegan!

OK, so it’s not exactly difficult to find vegan goth / punk / alternative shoes on the Internet, but these are reasonably priced and not as flimsy as some of the other ones out there.

These are the ones I nearly bought, but in the end I bought a pair of the Nova boots, as I thought I’d get more wear out of them (which I have. I wear them all the time).

Like the Novas, they were instantly comfortable and look absolutely great on. Somewhat biker-style, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you the kind of outfits they’d go with. Some boots are made for walking, these are definitely made for stomping. They are definitely on my shoe wishlist for this winter and beyond.

These are truly impressive vegan boots and although not quite victorian, they could still blend in with a steampunk outfit. If you’re keen to look more “period”, though, I’d check out the other vegan steampunk boots I wrote about earlier.

These boots are available from Schuh directly. They are self-explanatorily named “Schuh Multi Buckle Lace Boots”.

Vegan steampunk boots

BoBo vegan steampunk boots Steampunk by its very nature is a very leather-heavy look. They didn’t really have patent PVC and PU back in them days.
But while snooping around the Bourgeois Boheme website I found an unexpected surprise. These vegan “victorian inspired” boots are pure steampunk, while still being adaptable enough to be worn with your street or work clothes. As expected, they come in black and brown. I personally feel the brown looks somewhat more steampunky than the black, but they both work, really.
What more can I say? Nice knee-high style, lacing and a size zip (style and comfort) and at 55 UK pounds, they are, in fact, a bargain.

Bourgeois Boheme are a 100% vegan, ethical company based in London, UK.

For more vegan steampunk boots, you can also check out Pennangalan. They custom make their shoes and boots and have a whole range of Steampunk-ready stuff.
