These ever so slightly mad boots from wacky Canadian designers, Fluevog, are called “Tailor”. The vegan version is this paint-splattered denim material, but there is also a non-vegan brown version (so watch out). I’m totally loving the curved heels and the visible seams. Being me, I wish they also came in plain black fabric, but denim can be pretty versatile too. They’re definitely different. If you like the material but not the style, check out the Guide mary janes they make, which come in the same material but are, well, chunky mary janes. They’re also pretty awesome.

Sticking with the glitter theme because ’tis the season to be sparkly (and also because I love shiny and sparkly shoes and the upcoming NYE party thing is a very good excuse for sharing these), I introduce to you these ultimate party platforms! Sophisticated enough to be classy, glittery enough to be fun…These are brilliant without being too crazy, for a thoroughly suave night out with a bit of a jolly wink. Tall heels but steady-looking, so you don’t have to worry about falling over drunk when you’re out at the gallery opening or whathaveyou.

Thank you for reader Lara (not to be confused with Laura) who sent me a link to these wonderful Fluevogs that have somehow slipped my radar. It’s so good to see Fluevog bring out at least one vegan style every season, as their shoes are beautiful. These are inspired by the 70s and judging by the reviews are comfortable and flattering (though run a tiny bit small).

Note that there are a few colours in this style and only this one is vegan. The other ones are not. The good news is that they’re on sale and very heavily reduced. It may be autumn, but these are going to look just as gorgeous next year, I’m sure.

These crazy big platform vegan heels are like all of my shoe dreams rolled into one. They’re huge, they’re retro, they’re totally over the top and they’ve got polka dots. If you ever wanted to be like a foot taller then now’s your chance (OK, they’re not quite that high, but at 5.5 inches, they’re plenty tall enough).

Absolutely everyone would notice you if you were wearing these, which makes these the perfect shoes for you if you love being the centre of attention. Otherwise you’re probably better off wearing shoes that don’t scream so loud.

While the blurb talks about wooden soles, I don’t actually think it’s actual wood, but rather some fake wood. I could be wrong, though. Wouldn’t that be cool? Either way, these are, as they say, made of awesome.

I know this style has been around for years, but I just came across it while cruising for vegan shoes and I do so love it. They’re made by Demonia and I know for a fact they’re quite light, even though the platforms are huge. They’re the sort of shoes you could wear with the straightest outfit and they’d instantly turn it into an alternative punk / goth / almost fetishy costume.

They come in some very big sizes which means they could potentially fit some men too, and I guess they look sort of unisex in a clown shoe sort of way.

Totally loving these amazing glitter platform heels from Schuh! Towering high at 14CM with a nice retro-esque pin uppy platform is impressive enough, but these are in amazing blue glitter. What a brilliant colour in every way.

Just imagine how amazing these would look with a 50s vintage dress, a little black dress, a catsuit, a showgirl outfit or pretty much anything you can think of.

I know I have quite a few vegan diva readers lurking away somewhere to this one goes out to you. It’s time to put these on and shine line a true bombshell and dance around with the best of em.

Just had these appear in my Facebook feed. They’re pretty mad in every way – crazy height, mad (and rare) cherry pie print (the complete product, as opposed to simply the cherries themselves) and some sort of mad diamante brooch thing on the front. They’re definitely making a statement. I’m not sure what that statement is, but whatever it is, they’re making it now.

What’s more, they’re currently reduced from £60 to £35, which makes them a pretty good deal.

I was hoping the new season would deliver more interesting vegan shoes on my favourite hidden designer shoe trove, Payless, but I was decidedly unimpressed with most of what I saw.

I did like these, though, by Christian Siriano. They’re simple classics with a cool croc skin like pattern but with an interesting twist in the shape of that woven midsole feature that looks very much like rope. Add to that the peep toe, 4″ heel and hidden platorm and you’ve got yourself one sexy and unusual shoe that’s nonetheless versatile and smart. Not too smart, though, the woven bit makes it a bit more casual and quite summery, which is fine by me.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Don’t you just love these?

It’s definitely 70s retro season at Miss Selfridge. Here’s a pair of bright orange open toed platform heels that wouldn’t shame a blaxpoitation movie. They sport a solid, comfortable platform heel and a simple round buckle. They also come in some sort of creamy beige colour, but why be dull?

These would be great with miniskirts or dresses and obviously midi and maxi dresses too (as maxi dresses very big in the 70s). For some reason, the image that keeps getting into my head is these with woolly tights, a super short skirt and some sort of 70s woolly hat, but maybe that’s just because it’s cold outside. These would be far better at home in summer and spring with a healthy, shimmering tan.

I was on the hunt for vegan shoes at Miss Selfridge and these caught my eye on the top of the page. They sort of remind me of 70s platforms in colour and style so I’ve marked them as retro. Notice the cute, hidden leopard print lining. It’s becoming increasingly popular to make all kinds of wild linings to otherwise plain-coloured shoes and I’m all for that. It’s sort of like a little secret about your character.
These will make super spring and summer shoes with a short dress or you could even wear them in winter under certain circumstances (in the UK – indoors?) with tights. Yes, I’m pretty sure they’d go (un)surprisingly well with bell bottomed cords, but I’m not sure you want to go that route.

These “petrol” coloured velvet platform boots also come in black, but both colours are running out fast.

They’re in the Office sale and are truly retro-tastic. If you’re feeling the massive 13.5 cm heel and soft, shiny velvetness of these, then you’ll need to hurry up before they’re all gone back to the 70s. Great with bold coloured or black tights or a catsuit for a slick look or just wear them under trousers and look loads taller with an added velvety edge.

These shoes basically come with interchangeable tops, so you can get more wear out of each pair by changing the way the top half looks. There are all kinds of different soles and tops to choose from, from flip flops to these sort of heels I have here.

I think it’s cool as it means you can take one pair of shoes on holiday with you, plus a bunch of tops for them that pack up quite small. Then you can just swap them round to go with your outfits.

As you can see, the tops clip onto those bits down the side. I’ve not tried them myself to see how strong those bits are. They’d need to be quite strong clips to keep the top on through heavy use!

Here’s another find from M&S – the vegan’s surprise friend that keeps delivering surprisingly sexy, non-leather shoes.

Yes, as I keep telling people, Marks & Spencer are an absolute treasure trove of perfectly decent, reasonably-priced vegan shoes.
These white ones also come in a somewhat less bridal / Essex girl white, but either way are great in an understated cool sort of way.

It’s always good to have stable, functional yet sexy platform heels to go with a nice evening outfit (from the modern to the retro). These even go for less than 30 quid (just). Bargain!

Let’s face it – nobody does vegan pin up heels quite like TUK. They just seem to consistently deliver hot, perfectly wearable shoes. These beautiful red pin up heels are a very fine example of the above.

A mad fashion designer once told me that red shoes are notorious for being uncomfortable, but you wear them anyway.
I’ve had my share of uncomfortable red shoes, but the one pair of really gorgeous but comfortable red pin up heels I have are made by TUK. I’m inclined to believe these new ones are comfortable too.

The heels are big enough to make you extra tall, but the platform is wide enough to feel stable and the strap will hold you in place for even more support. That aside, look at how incredibly hot they are!

Once again, Marks & Sparks deliver a surprisingly retro footwear product. These cute cork platform heels may not be the sort of thing I’d have expected to find amongst their stock, but there you go.

These would fit right in with quite a few pin up minded shoe places, not to mention your big 50s swimsuits and summery dresses.

They have a whole pin up / retro thing going on and still manage to appear stable and comfortable enough to be worn just about anywhere. Apart from the red and white striping, there’s also a white and blue colour combo, for the purists.
