These ever so slightly mad boots from wacky Canadian designers, Fluevog, are called “Tailor”. The vegan version is this paint-splattered denim material, but there is also a non-vegan brown version (so watch out). I’m totally loving the curved heels and the visible seams. Being me, I wish they also came in plain black fabric, but denim can be pretty versatile too. They’re definitely different. If you like the material but not the style, check out the Guide mary janes they make, which come in the same material but are, well, chunky mary janes. They’re also pretty awesome.

Well, it’s certainly sales season and everywhere you go is selling something off for less than it was. These super cute ankle boots by Novacas are in the Fashion Conscience sale, alongside other great vegan shoes (and some non-vegan shoes, so be careful!). They’re sort of butch and short of femme all at the same time and have that slight alternative chunky edge I really love about Novacas’ shoes. It reminds me of Bronx Shoes a bit, which I also love the look of, but they’re always made of leather (boo hiss).
These boots are reduced by £22 which is not a huge amount, but it’s a nice amount to not have to pay.

Well aren’t these just totally brilliant? Check out the heel! But just in case this ultra-super-fucking-awesome lightening-shaped heel wasn’t enough to make these Flash Gordon 80s revival meets pin up creation sweet, you also get a little tiny blue lightening bolt on the front. These will definitely make any outfit and get you instantly noticed. If you want to have people talking about your shoes all night long, then you’ll have to work hard to beat these ones, I think.

A while back, a reader asked me about alternatives to Irregular Choice shoes, because she didn’t like the fact that they sell shoes with fur. Well, now another one of my dedicated readers, Lara (thanks, Lara!) has discovered Ruby Shoo. It’s a company that makes very cute, girly heels such as these ones, that are obviously quite retro inspired and feature a certain quirkiness that is not a million miles away from Irregular Choice shoes. They’re not quite as crazy as some of the Irregular Choice offerings, but are certainly gorgeous… and vegan. I do believe they might all be vegan, actually.

It’s time to pay another visit to my favourite vegan Israeli designer – Roni Kantor. These lovelies are from her current winter collection and are certainly retro-esque. She specialises in redesigns and retro-inspired creations in the clothing department but also has this like of shoes consciously made out of leather alternatives.

These work great with dark tights and vintage dresses and have chunky-ish, sold heels making them perfect for offices and parties alike. Love them. Check out the rest of her collection for some more eye-poppingly cute shoes.

Lovely lovely Olsenhaus! These gorgeous boots have cut out bits so may not be the most practical of winter boots but they are so beautiful, I’m willing to overlook that part.

Check out their pretty blue platforms and chunky heels! These, like many other Olsenhaus shoes and boots, are made out of recycled TV screens. The microfiber suede looks a lot like real suede but as I gather, it doesn’t mark when wet, as it’s not real suede. Bonus!

These also come in taupe or brown. I think they’re probably past season’s, as the black ones seem to be reduced.

They might not look it, but these utterly goth-tastic (or skull-icious, if you prefer) ankle boots are 100% vegan friendly. Ogle their dark awesomeness! Pointed toes, a little heel and, of course, the 3 skull buckles make them extra awesome, as long as you don’t take yourself too seriously (and what goth ever does, eh?)

I’m totally loving these and even though I know there is no shortage of vegan goth shoes (as there is no shortage of vegan goths), I do think it helps to have super awesome ones turn up every once in a while on this blog. Don’t you think?

Ladies! Your essential autumn / winter knee high boots are here! These are made by ethical vegan company Beyond Skin out of fake suede and are perfectly classic and will definitely go with anything. They are handmade in Spain and while certainly more expensive than most vegan shoes we know, are about the same price as you’d pay for a similarly well made leather pair and are of equal quality.

I’m sure they will last for years and, let’s face it, I’ve never seen boots like these go out of fashion.

These crazy big platform vegan heels are like all of my shoe dreams rolled into one. They’re huge, they’re retro, they’re totally over the top and they’ve got polka dots. If you ever wanted to be like a foot taller then now’s your chance (OK, they’re not quite that high, but at 5.5 inches, they’re plenty tall enough).

Absolutely everyone would notice you if you were wearing these, which makes these the perfect shoes for you if you love being the centre of attention. Otherwise you’re probably better off wearing shoes that don’t scream so loud.

While the blurb talks about wooden soles, I don’t actually think it’s actual wood, but rather some fake wood. I could be wrong, though. Wouldn’t that be cool? Either way, these are, as they say, made of awesome.

There comes a time in every shoe addict’s life, where one has to clear out some old shoes one never wears anymore, to make room for all the hot new shoes of the future. But seeing as many of these shoes are actually pretty wearable still and may make someone else very happy, this particular shoe addict, i.e. me, is going to offer them up to you, dear shoe-loving readers first.

First up, here’s a pair of vaguely kabuki-ish heels by Rocket Dog. The soles are actual wood, but the sort of cheap wood like the stuff cheap Ikea shelves are made of. They’ve got raffia uppers with some sort of red PU padding so they won’t scratch. They are marked as size 7M, which I believe is a US size. They fit like a size 5 (38 UK) but are not actually that wide. They fit my feet pretty spot on and they’re quite narrow.

Heels are very stable, as they are quite wide. They’ve been worn a bunch of times so are not pristine, but I’d rate them as reasonable. They’re definitely pretty unusual.

Totally loving these amazing glitter platform heels from Schuh! Towering high at 14CM with a nice retro-esque pin uppy platform is impressive enough, but these are in amazing blue glitter. What a brilliant colour in every way.

Just imagine how amazing these would look with a 50s vintage dress, a little black dress, a catsuit, a showgirl outfit or pretty much anything you can think of.

I know I have quite a few vegan diva readers lurking away somewhere to this one goes out to you. It’s time to put these on and shine line a true bombshell and dance around with the best of em.

Here’s something that’s not easy to find – vegan tango shoes! Well, these can be used for all kinds of ballroom and Latin dances, I guess, but they’re supposedly for tango, which is great, cause that’s what I dance. Usually, you get suede soles, which means even the satin / other fabric / fake leather tango shoes have a dirty little secret at the bottom. These, however, use some type of fake suede instead, which is supposedly still good for dancing but is not made out of dead animal. I’m yet to try these and see how good they are (they’re priced like proper tango shoes, that’s for sure!) but will report if and when I can afford to buy them.

In the meantime, you can get them here. They are priced in Euros, so I assume they come from Europe. They have a whole range of vegan dance shoes and sneakers, so definitely worth a look.

Would you believe these beautiful Vivienne Westwood heels are vegan and made of that special Melissa Shoes plastic? Aren’t they totally awesome? These are probably the most “adult” shoes she’s designed for Melissa. I don’t mean adult in an adult movie way but in a grown up way. I love all the shoes she’s done for Melissa but they have certainly been very playful, obviously drawing inspiration from the materials and appealing to quite a fashion-savvy, young at heart audience that’s not afraid of wearing quirky plastic shoes.

These, on the other hand, while they do come in a few loud, plastic colours, are much more serious-looking. You could wear them to your gallery opening and still get away with it. One assumes they look more rubbery in person than on the Internet, but I still reckon you’d need to be pretty close to notice.

Here’s a pair of fun, simple and cheap high heeled sandals from our friends at Payless, the thrifty vegan’s secret stash store. They might not be your choice for the NY fashion show, but they may well serve you at the Vegas pool party.

Apart from this white colour, they also come in black, a cheap-looking denim colour and another shade which is very similar to this shade’s lining.

Basically, these are fun, summery shoes that may not last you 15 years, but will definitely provide some good times while they do last. Seeing as most self respecting fashionistas wouldn’t be seen anywhere near a Payless store, you can also rest in the knowledge that you’re likely to be the only one wearing these. I do so love that about buying from the cheap stores. I’ll leave it up to you whether to tell people where you got these when they inevitably ask.

There’s a time and a place for trashy gold heels and when the time comes. It’s good to know that you can get fairly decent vegan ones from H&M. These happy strappy gold sandals are out for spring, so if you feel the need to stylishly pimp up your personal style, you can grab a pair of these. With a tight black outfit without too many other bells and whistles, these could actually look almost classy, but you can go wild with your imagination if you want to look super 80s trashy style and match them with some sort of loud hipster ensemble for the full effect.
