Vegan creeper trainers

Vegan creeper trainersSo…Creepers and Converse-style trainers got together and had a lovechild. This is the result. The “schuh creep platform lo flats” (you’ll need to search on this name to find them on the site) give you the best of both worlds when it comes to ultimate coolness. If you like creepers and trainers, now you won’t have to choose any more. Interestingly, they are called the “lo flats”. Does this mean we are to see the hi ones as well at some point in the future? I shall keep you posted.

Meanwhile, you can get these from Schuh.

Colourful vegan tribal ankle boots

tribal vegan ankle boots These tribal vegan boots may initially appear to be squarely in the tribal / hippie department but their somewhat 80s styling (they’re actually referred to as “retro” by the seller) does have a certain air of hipsterism you can use to your advantage. They come from Thailand and are made out of tribal fabrics by an enterprise working to empower local tribal women. These particular boots are made out of fabrics made by Akha tribal women, but the Etsy shop where I found them features stuff made from fabrics spun by the Hmong tribe as well. There are all kinds of vegan shoes, sandals and boots (including knee highs) in all kinds of mad colours. As with all stuff made out of tribal style arts, you can wear it full hippie with the whole harem trousers or sarong fabric dress thing or you could match it with more urban, classic stuff to just give a touch of hippie. Either way, I’m loving the black version.

Oh and they also do some shoes for men and some of them are quite unusual. I like these.

Check out the stuff in the Estsy shop.

Cute vegan mary jane plastic shoes with bows

Vegan mary jane shoes Right now, spring is certainly looking pretty far away, but I keep telling myself it’s just around the corner. Of course, one of the best ways to feel better while going through winter is to plan ahead for all the cool spring and summer shoes you’ll be wearing next season. With this in mind, I present these super simple, versatile and darling little mary janes by blog favourites, Melissa Shoes.
Wear them everywhere, with everything for all your modern, retro and hipster needs.
They remind me of those cute Chinese shoes that were a big hit in the 90s, but unlike those they are obviously made of Melissa’s patented bubblegum scented plastic and have those big Minnie Mouse bows.

You can get them from Fashion Conscience.

Hip Chinese vegan trainers

ospop vegan trainers
Aren’t these neat? They’re a bit like Palladiums and a bit like Converse but really nothing like either. They’re “proudly made in China” by people keen to prove not everything out of China is totalitarian and cruel to animals. They are suitable for both men and women, come in a load of colours (as you can see) and are designed to be durable and long-lasting (yes, not everything that comes out of China falls apart after a few days).

You can learn more about them on the Ospop website.

Vegan EVA trainers

Vegan EVA trainers If Brazil is the undisputed queen of sexy jelly shoes (Melissa, Grendha, etc.) then Canada is the queen of EVA shoes of questionable fashionability (I’m not sure there is such a word as fashionability, but if not, there ought to be). I’m sure you all know Crocs come from Canada and while the originals were about as fashionable as Ugg (ugh) boots, they are for some reason extremely popular. They’ve improved a bit as far as design goes and actually have some reasonably pretty shoes nowadays for women, though they are not in my good books right now as my Carlie peep toes have been absolutely killing the backs of my heels and costing me heaps of cash in plasters.
Aaaaanyway… Although I am yet to update my travel blog on the matter (it’s coming), I am currently in the Philippines, where I have come across a shop selling these shoes by Native. They’re also from Canada, also made out of that ultra-light, supposedly breathable EVA material and also vegan. On the other hand, they’re perforated for better air circulation and look like funky retro trainers/sneakers, rather than something that came off the end of Mickey Mouse’s foot. I’m sure the real fashion royalty among you are going to be horrified by the thought of EVA shoes of any sort (I do believe it’s some sort of plastic or rubber that’s meant to be eco friendly), but these do come in all kinds of mad and fun colours and make super cute summer or beach shoes. There are a few other designs too, all modeled after classic trainers styles – loafers, etc. and they come in sizes to fit both men and women.

I’ve managed to find some on Endless in the US and Amazon in the UK.

Wacky yellow vegan rain boots

Vegan rain boots And the winners of craziest rubbery rain boots for this season are these boots by Jeffrey Campbell. If you hate rain as much as I do and need some bright, silly and somewhat mad rain boots to make you laugh as you’re stepping in puddles and getting soaked, then these are your knights in yellow shining armour. I totally get these and I’m sure many of you on here will get them too.

The brogue detailing, in case you’re wondering, is actually printed on, which is not ideal, but will have to do. At least they’re likely to keep your feet warm and relatively dry and you’re bound to look like some sort of ultra cute cartoon character.

You can get them from Modcloth.

Two-toned vegan knee high boots

vegan knee high boots Sticking with the rugged knee-high trend, here’s a pair of boots from vegan, ethical company Cri de coeur. They’re a stylish mix of faux leather and faux suede, seen here in black, but you can also get them in a brown combo.

I think now I have the complete set on here – biker-styled knee highs, riding style and cowboy style. I’m really not helping my decision making process here, but there you go.

Cri de coeur are one of those good vegan companies I always feel good about recommending, which makes it a little bit easier to spend money on their stuff :)

You can get these from Endless.com.

Hot vegan cowgirl-ish knee nigh boots

Vegan cowboy boots for women Just when I thought I found my perfect vegan knee high boots (the Nina ones from Novacas), they go and do it again with this Eliza boot. Now I have to choose whether I want a classic riding boot or this sexy cowgirl offering. I want both!

These have some interesting features, like the brogueing, asymmetrical cuff and, of course, that whole sort of modern meets old cowboy look. The Nina boots are, well, more British.
Which one would you choose? I’ll let you know what I decide!

In the meantime, you can get them from Endless.com in the US.

Vegan riding style boots

Vegan riding style boots Often I find that when it comes to vegan shoes there’s a shortage of good classic shoes and boots that would last you for many seasons and go with many different looks. These riding boots by Novacas are certainly instant classics and are timeless enough to be worn from now till they die. They are priced accordingly, so don’t expect cheap and cheerful, but it does mean they’re likely to be your friends for many years. You know, I actually think these are exactly the boots I’ve been searching for since god knows when.

You can get them from Fashion Conscience in the UK and Endless.com in the US.

Cute red vegan boots with flowers

Red vegan boots with flower These super cute vegan boots from Vegetarian Shoes are in keeping with their “girly but sensible” style and have the advantage of being bright red, which is sure to brighten up a dark winter’s day for just about anyone.

I know they’re going to be a big hit with you guys, because, let’s face it, Veggie Shoes make decent shoes that are comfortable and last, so when they manage to hit the cuteness factor too, we usually have a winner.

Apart from the cute flowers, these boots have handy side zips and are padded, so should make neat casual and fun winter boots, which is handy, because winter is just about the corner.

You can get them from the Vegetarian Shoes site.

Vegan blue and pink cheetah print trainers

vegan blue leopard print trainers Astute readers would have undoubtedly noticed the lack of post yesterday. This is because your resident shoe addict is currently on self imposed exile in the far East, far away from shoes and other addictions harmful and otherwise. This post is actually coming to you from chilly Mcleod Ganj, high(ish) up in the Himalayan foothills, following too short a stint in beautiful Kashmir, far from Internet and even mobile reception. So things might be a bit random for a while, but I shall attempt to post regularly.

I just found these on the Schuh site and they look super fun. A nice twist on the leopard print (technically cheetah print, apparently, but as they say in India – same same). Little silver sparkles on the laces remind me of everything that was good about the 80s and the pink soles are a well thought out surprise. Definitely another fine hit from Vans.

You can get them from Schuh.

cool vegan strappy flats with cut out hearts

Vegan flats with cut out hearts Oh I do so love these cute TUK shoes with their 3-strap action, cut out hearts and schoolgirl charm!

They have girlie rounded toes and are surprisingly sexy for flat. Maybe it’s all that black and red and the somewhat overstrapped look that makes them a bit reminiscent of some sort of manga bondage fantasy. I’ll leave that up to you, dear readers, to decide. I’m just going to think of how cool they’re going to look on.

You can get them from Endless.com.

Vegan converse all black (monochrome) knee high boots

Converse all black knee high boots Oh yes, happy day! Remember when I wrote about the buckled up converse knee highs and wished they’d make an all black version? Well, they haven’t made a buckled all black version yet as far as I can tell, but they have made an all black knee high boot and here it is! It’s called the “Womens Converse As Xx Hi Trainers” and is available exclusively at Schuh in the UK (apparently) for a mere £50 including postage.
These are so cool on so many levels I may actually have to try them on. For some reason, Converse shoes never quite seem to agree with the shape of my feet, but for these, I’m willing to suffer the slings of minor discomfort.

You can get them from Schuh.

Awesome vegan men’s leopard print shoes

Vegan men's leopard print shoes I swear to god, if I were a man, half my shoes would come from Momentum.

Check out these cooler than cool fabric leopard print lace up shoes with their boat shoes detailing at the top and neat orange touches! Inside the shoes and at the back of the sole there seem to be little name tags, like you’d have for kids. “My name is _____ and I live at ____”. How weird. I wonder how many guys would actually fill those out (at least the ones inside).

As with all Momentum shoes I’ve seen, they have the cool skull “charm” thing, on the laces. This time in black. I totally love these shoes. I’d buy them for myself if I had bigger feet!

All you lucky, stylish vegan guys can get them from Schuh. Oh yeah, and did I mention that these are limited edition? Only 500 made apparently. So hurry up!

Vegan veggie shoes limited edition trainers

vegan trainers Here’s an interesting new development – Vegetarian Shoes have come out with a whole limited edition range of their cute Cheetah trainers. Only one or two sizes out in each, but really fun and unusual colour combinations. If they have something you like in your size then grab it quick, as all of these are made out of remnants and things, so there are really only a few pairs in each size (sometimes just the one) and as the old saying goes, when they’re gone they’re gone.

Get them at Vegetarian Shoes.
