These have been around for a while, but I just saw them pop up on my Amazon widget and realised I’ve never actually featured them properly. They are by Olsen Haus, so ethical and eco-friendly, as well as vegan. Personally, I like the brown and red combination, even though it’s not the sort of colour combination I’d expect to like. Same goes for the fabric and “suede” combination. The strap is cool too, but I did expect to like the strap.
You can get them from Amazon.com

OK, these say they’re made out of PU, which would make them vegan. I can’t imagine why they’d say PU if they were made of leather. The lining is apparently fabric so…
It actually kinda pains me to write about these as they have them in my size and it says last remaining pairs and I really can’t afford £150 right now. If you’ve ever considered donating to my shoe fund, now’s the time. I think I actually drooled a little when I saw them. Then I cried a little. It was not an easy night.
You can get them (for me! I’m a 6) at the Office sale.
Another one from the new, somewhat sculptural Melissa Shoes range.
These “flocked” wedges are a bit more subdued in form, but they do have the most amazing cone decorations that leave no doubt as to the fact they’re brilliantly high fashion.
Melissa shoes are sort of hard to get, which I think is part of their charm. You see their shoes in a few places but never the whole collection at once or even anything near it.
You can get these and a bunch of other styles from Amazon UK.
Another Christian Siriano and Payless collaboration. This time it’s these simple but funky trainers. The colour is certainly unusual and I love the vegan patent and zipper accents.
As Payless isn’t usually the place to shop for the ultra-stylish, high fashion shoe, I think you could easily get away with buying these and being the only one of your circle of friends to have them.
Here they are on the Payless site.

Ooooh I do like these! How can shoes that have so many different colours and very 80s-tastic fake gems look so adoringly classy? Well, I don’t know but here they are.
The perfect shoes to be wearing when you stick your foot out of the limo’s door so it can be snapped before it reaches the red carpet. And hey, with so many different colours, it’s bound to match even the tackiest of pink limos.
For us mere mortals, I’d settle for wearing these on a posh night of the town. I so want these!
You can get them from Modcloth. I’d say hurry up if you’re considering it, cause they seem to run out of things pretty fast.
I got so excited about these I accidentally posted this yesterday. If you were fast enough, you got a sneak preview. I could have let you have it, but no. You only get one post a day so here it is.
I gotta say that these utterly delectable vegan boots from Cri de Coeur are making me want to do things to shoes that shouldn’t be discussed in polite company. They have an actual wooden platform – not fake plastic wood. This makes me happy in a special way.
Unlike most shoes with a real wooden platform, though, they are made out of fake suede and fabric, without any leather in sight. The fact that they are also ethical and eco-friendly makes them even sexier.
I think I may actually be in love. Why don’t you run along now and look at them, so I can stay on my own for a little while and look at them too?
You can get them from Endless.com. For $390. Sigh.

These are so lovely! Thank you Karen for bringing these to my attention. I never actually thought I’d like moccasins, but there you go.
These vegan moccasins are handmade to order in NYC by a happy team of only 3 people.
There are three different vegan designs and a bunch of colour combos.
They seem remarkably urban and fashionable for shoes based on traditional costume. They’re also apparently as comfy as they look – a great vegan variation of a traditionally leathery style.
you can get them directly from Save the Manimals.

Melissa, eat your heart out!
I love the looks of these shoes. Especially the whole strappy thing they’ve got going on, that apart from looking hot also means the shoe is very airy.
The bow just makes them extra cute, a bit retro and almost a little bit cartoony. In a sweet and girlie way.
Being designer shoes, they are not cheap, but then, neither are Melissa Shoes and these are a lot less common.
You can get them from Moschino.
Here’s another Payless designer vegan cheapie. This time it’s from Christian Siriano who, in case you didn’t know, won Project Runway’s fourth season. Victoria Beckham is a fan, though I’m not sure that would sell it to me.
These will definitely draw attention and they have a sort of Italian charm to them that looks like something you’d pay a lot more than $60 for.
You can get them from the very unlikely place that is the Payless website.
Olsen Haus shoes never cease to make me happy, so seeing as it’s a slow shoe news day when it comes to new, uncharted designers, I figured it’s time to check their current collection. These lovely red boots are made out of recycled TV screens. I’ve written before about the coolness that is wearing shoes that are made out of tellies. Sexy, eco-minded and subversive, all in the same boot. These have a hot hot wedge and a faux leather belt.
Check them out on the Olsen Haus site.
You’ll need to email them to buy these directly from them. Let me know how it works, as I’ve never tried
Apparently Olsen Haus make these. They don’t look anything like the other stuff I’ve seen from them, but apparently they are by them.
I quite like this style, seems a bit biker-esque but a bit less out there than their usual stuff. I’ve been looking for decent knee high boots and these look like the sort of thing I’m after. I’m not sure I’d want to pay $260 for them, though. Would you? (this isn’t a rhetorical question, by the way, I really want to know!)
You can get them from Amazon.
If you’ve been following my blog (which you obviously have, right?) you already know how fond I am of Melissa shoes. Well, here’s a new one from them, by designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. It’s like a cross between their more “classic” (sic. The shoes are made of bubblegum-scented plastic) brogue and a modern wedge heel. They come in a bunch of colours, plus a couple of less broguey and more wedgey “flocked” material (the thing that looks sort of like velvet but is still plastic).
No clue where to buy them as of yet. The Melissa site seems to generally be a concept site rather than, you know, a useful one where you can buy shoes.
Still, you can check them out and then run your own shoe search. I’m sure somewhere online does them.
Look these up on the Melissa site.
My friend sent me a link to this guy’s blog. He is an Israeli shoe designer who, apart from the obligatory leather designs also has a few designs in purely vegan materials.
His designs are more like weird wearable art than actual every day shoes and I have no idea where or how you could ever get any of them, but I like the fact that he’s actually made several things out of fake leather and fabric without using any leather. I wish more designers (both young and established) would throw us the occasional vegan shoe bone to play with. Don’t you?
See more shoes (vegan and not) in his blog.
Wow wow wow! Check out these beautiful boots from vegan design house Olsen haus. How hot are these? This company always impresses me with its designs, popular with vegan and vegetarian celebrities.
I found these particular boots on ethical online shop Neon Collective. They’re listed as “coming soon”, so you may have to wait a little bit before being able to buy them, but that should give you plenty of time to save up the cash to get them
Here’s another mad pair of boots from the Irregular Choice vegetarian range. These are fresh in from the autumn collection and feature a strange sculpted shape that sort of changes profile up your leg, plus a whole load of tassles and a big shiny star thing on the heel.
They’re black enough to go with all your outfits, but mad enough to stand out and be counted.
You can get them from the Irregular Choice site.
