It’s Boxing Day in the UK. I hope shoe Santa has brought you some nice presents to parade around in today and that you’re not feeling too ill from eating too much yesterday.
But back to the matter at hand… I love these pretty, girlie boots! They’re the sort of shoes you could buy and wear with everything all the time. They’ve got instant cutification powers that would finish off any casual or semi casual outfit perfectly. I’ve tagged them with retro as I think they’d fit in well with that sort of look.
You can get them from Modcloth.
I’ve been looking for casual every day boots to wear when the situation does not call for para boots (seeing as those are the only boots I could bring with me on my trip) and these seem to be the sort of thing. I think some happy hunting is in order. I like them cause they’re simple and current and the strap fastening (it works) is a neat touch. They’re by Blowfish, they’re called “topaz”.
You can get them on Schuh.
You wait for ages for vegan Victorian ankle boots and then two pairs come along at once…
These are from Miss Selfridge with a pointy toe and a bit of brogue detailing.
The folded over collar looks like you should be able to unfold it and wear it up and it has eyelets and everything. Not sure if it’s all for show, though. If you end up buying them, please let me know!
You can get them from Miss Selfridge.
Looking for some boots to match with your Victorian / steampunk outfit? Steampunk stuff is generally either super expensive or leather or both but here’s a pair of cheap and simple boots from Marks & Spencer that could do the trick well enough.
As usual with their shoes, don’t expect them to necessarily be a conversation piece of their own accord, but they will fit in with a good outfit and support the look.
They can also double as cute every day boots and they also come in black.
You can get them from M&S.
I got so excited about these I accidentally posted this yesterday. If you were fast enough, you got a sneak preview. I could have let you have it, but no. You only get one post a day so here it is.
I gotta say that these utterly delectable vegan boots from Cri de Coeur are making me want to do things to shoes that shouldn’t be discussed in polite company. They have an actual wooden platform – not fake plastic wood. This makes me happy in a special way.
Unlike most shoes with a real wooden platform, though, they are made out of fake suede and fabric, without any leather in sight. The fact that they are also ethical and eco-friendly makes them even sexier.
I think I may actually be in love. Why don’t you run along now and look at them, so I can stay on my own for a little while and look at them too?
You can get them from Endless.com. For $390. Sigh.

Here’s another Payless designer vegan cheapie. This time it’s from Christian Siriano who, in case you didn’t know, won Project Runway’s fourth season. Victoria Beckham is a fan, though I’m not sure that would sell it to me.
These will definitely draw attention and they have a sort of Italian charm to them that looks like something you’d pay a lot more than $60 for.
You can get them from the very unlikely place that is the Payless website.
Fake suede boots with big (12.5cm, so big but not drag queen big), glitter-covered heels by H&M. Pretty, funky and cheap and wedges are apparently still big this season.
I’m so glad H&M are selling more shoes nowadays. They always featured brilliant shoes in their displays in store, but for ages, you couldn’t actually buy the shoes. Now they seem to have quite a few styles in stock and the vast majority of them are vegan.
You can get these boots and more stuff from the H&M site.
A while back, I bought this vaguely western-style dress and then realised I actually have no shoes that really go with it. I really want cowboy boots, but the ones I have (TUK ones) are completely the wrong colour and are patterned in a way that clashes with the dress. Vegan cowboy boots are generally ugly. I don’t know why that is, but they just are.
Maybe it’s because real cowboy boots are usually such an ode to leather that the only companies that would replicate them in vegan materials are either doing it to save money or don’t really understand what makes a good cowboy boot. Those gorgeous vintage cowboy boots you see around were probably handmade by someone who knew what they were doing, too, rather than in a sweatshop. Compare and contrast these, for example, with vegan cowboy boots you see in shop. Makes you want to cry tears of rage, doesn’t it?
But I digress. Truth be told, these ruched ankle boots from Blowfish are not exactly cowboy boots but I reckon they are nice enough to go with my dress. They may not be my dream cowgirl boots, but they won’t detract from the outfit and the overall effect will be good. They have a flattering shape and a comfortable heel. I quite like the chunky zip, too. These also come in a sort of light brown as well (walnut).
Sadly, when it comes to vegan boots, we still have a way to go before we can really enjoy a really exciting variety at an affordable price.
You can get them from Office.
I saw the link to these pop up on Twitter and just had to ask if they were vegan. They are! Sometimes, there is a god.
These shiny Galactii Bow boots by Irregular Choice look like gift wrapping for your feet. Crazy-weird but oh so sexy. Check out the pics for a look at the wicked multi-coloured zip on the inside of each shoe, and what’s this on the bottom of each sole? Why, it’s a bunny in a teapot print!
As usual, IC went all out with the weird and wonderful touches for a sort of glam Alice in Wonderland themed boot. Sort of like something the red queen would wear on a date with Ziggy Stardust.
You can get them from Schuh .
Another one from the increasingly popular 90s revival trend.
I remember seeing loads of these around when I was around in the 90s, though usually they were all leather back then. Now you can relive those magical days from the inside with these reasonably-priced vegan lce up boots.
You can get them at Dorothy Perkins.
Here’s yet another pair of this season’s studded biker boot offerings. These are by Blowfish and do have that distressed “worn out” look which I am personally not a fan of, but they have a cool shape to them and look kinda rock’n'roll (about as much as you can get in the biker boot department if you don’t wear leather).
They also come in a shade of brown.
You can get them from Office.
Aren’t these hot? I know it’s a bit wrong, but I’m kinda thinking “Flash Gordon” but in a totally good way. I guess what I mean it’s that they’re sort of 80s inspired but still modern and cool.
They also come in a very bright shade of very hot red.
You can get these from Beyond Skin , a 100% ethical, vegan company.
M&S are doing vegan biker boots now? Yup, that’s right. Well, they are not proper biker boots to wear while you’re riding your bike, but they are certainly biker style to go with your biker or rocket style outfit. We’re talking cheapish boots here – £35, which is very handy.
They might not be the most high fashion offering on the market, but they are a good basic pair that will fit in with an every day outfit.
You can get them from the M&S site.
More vegan biker boots anyone? These ones from H&M (I’m so glad I discovered their online store) suffer from the same lack of real leather “chunkiness” that most vegan biker boots suffer from (especially the cheap ones). As far as these go, though, I like their clean lines and lack of tacky embelishments. Simple straps will do for me, thanks!
You can get these from the H&M site.
Shoes don’t seem to last very long on there, but they do seem to get mostly vegan shoes every season. I’m sure as long as biker boots are in fashion, they’ll keep bringing back some variations on the theme.
As you can probably tell, the last few days I have been mostly concentrating on the usual suspects of vegan footwear to bring you some boot choices. This is because it’s gotten bloody hard to find nice new vegan shoes in the more mainstream sites I lurk around on.
But do not despair! These fun, casual boots from Novacas would make a nice addition to your autumn look, plus they are ethical and eco minded. Novacas is one of those companies that manages to make really nice, fashionable looking shoes while still being vegan and ethical. Oh and their prices aren’t sky high either.
You can get them from Moo Shoes
