As you may have noticed, this blog has been quiet for a while. This is because I’ve been putting all my energy into a different project and taking a step back from everything else. That said, I caught sight of these absolutely mad glitter platforms and decided it’s time to make a quick appearance and share, because, well… You know.
These are great for those times when nothing but the craziest, over the top shoes will do. When you need to be a few inches taller and sparkle like a disco ball. So, any night of the week then. I mean, as if the sparkle wasn’t enough, there are massive bows as well. They’re called bowen peep ankle strap glitter high heels and you can get them from Schuh.

These just popped up in my Facebook stream and made me happy. I’m sure they will make many of you vegan men happy too. They’re British made, ethical and I’m certain they’ll be as comfortable as they are swish. Now you can finally have the shoes to match that vintage suit without having to tell yourself that second hand leather is OK, boys!
I’ve put these in the men category, though they’re supposedly unisex. I guess they are size-wise (they start at 4 UK), so if you’re a girl who likes to wear unisex shoes, then these are obviously also for you.

I’ve been contacted by Galo, an American company that sells shoes made in Italy, as they’ve recently added a designated vegan section to their website (you can see it here). It’s always good to hear about companies that try to make it easier for us non-leather wearers and while their shoes are generally not quite my taste, I did like these cute and classic elastic sandals, which seem really comfortable, as well as smart and versatile. On the whole, the Galo shoes and boots seem like a good functional choice, rather than high fashion – well made, comfortable smart shoes that look like they’d last you quite a few years. I can see myself wearing these sandals If I was going to an event where I needed to look presentable and be on my feet a long time. They also come in a brown colour combo.

Cute vegan sandals for summer! These are simple and sweet, they look comfortable and they have a leopard print pattern. They also come in the natural raffia colour if leopard print is a bit wild for you, which is also nice. Either of these will make nice smart-casual shoes for the beach-side bar.

Well, I love purple and I love platform heels and it’s the season for sandals, so I totally love these. They’re Madden Girls and they do come in a range of colours – black, some browns, a cool red-orange-pink combo…I’m not sure all are vegan as there’s a tan option that’s definitely not fabric, although for this price, I’m pretty sure it’s not real leather (they are made in China though, where sometimes leather is cheaper than fake). T These purple ones definitely say fabric and synthetic all over them. hey’re definitely great party heels and perfect for spring. Need I say again how gorgeous the purple shade is? It’s not every day that I see purple vegan shoes, I must say.

Roni Kantor, one of my favourite vegan designers has brought out her summer collection and I want all of it. I’m going to have to choose just the one pair (or am I?). I’m showing these because there’s a shortage of attractive vegan shoes that are feminine and sexy but not on super high heels. These are tiny kitten heels and she also does completely flat shoes with similar touches of leopard print or other colours in the fan pattern. Great if you want to look the part but hate wearing heels.

She used to sell her shoes on Etsy but doesn’t seem to anymore. If you want these, contact her through her Facebook page and ask how you can order them.

These are weird but I like them. They come in black, white and some sort of mad “tribal” fabric that’s definitely some sort of fashion statement. I’m never quite sure about the hybrid shoe-sandal thing. There have been quite a few crimes against fashion in recent years that involved the chimera that they are, but these are not a million miles away from the old lindy hop / swing dancing wedges of the 50s, although the platform wedge is higher. They’re made of canvas, so even though they’re half closed, they should breathe enough to make decent summer shoes. The laces are definitely a nice touch too.

They actually look like they’d be quite comfortable to wear.

These are so cute! Every day is a summer’s day with a fair on the common when you wear shoes with bunting on them! In case you’re thinking that yellow may be a little bit too festive (though it is possibly the most retro shade of the lot), there are 3 more shades of awesomeness you can choose from – black, red and that shade of pale green you see in people’s retro kitchens which is ever so lovely.

These are made by Miss L Fire, whose shoes I absolutely adore, but so many of them are made of leather.  Luckily, some of the summer range seems leather free.

A thousand times yes! These shoes are blatantly made of awesome. I generally need to be sold on brown shoes, but these are just about crazy enough for me to love. If they were a guy I’d be totally making a fool of myself right about now, but they’re a pair of shoes so I can just throw some money at the problem and make them mine. I’m not quite sure what I’d wear them with, but I guess it doesn’t matter because no one would be looking at what you’re wearing. They’d be too busy looking at the shoes.

So…Creepers and Converse-style trainers got together and had a lovechild. This is the result. The “schuh creep platform lo flats” (you’ll need to search on this name to find them on the site) give you the best of both worlds when it comes to ultimate coolness. If you like creepers and trainers, now you won’t have to choose any more. Interestingly, they are called the “lo flats”. Does this mean we are to see the hi ones as well at some point in the future? I shall keep you posted.

Well, it’s been a crazy month or so here at virtual Vegan Shoe Addict towers. I’ve returned from travels, moved house and now I’m off again. I’ve not really had time to write about shoes, sadly, but I did save these Kurt Geiger “Garden Courts” after seeing the Carvela line at the airport.
Not all of the Carvelas are vegan, but a lot of them are and they’re generally quite fun. These particular ones are like a poor (wo)man’s version of something you’d wear to the Oscars and I reckon they could comfortably carry a good dress.

Behold the cute “highlight rainbow” flats from Rock & Candy. I guess summer holds more retro goodness for us. I remember espadrilles were popular when I was a kid, but here they are still popular after a few seasons of 70s and 80s revival. These fun shoes also come in a somewhat less fun but more grown up creamy beige colour, in case the stripy rainbow version clashes with the colour of your yacht or you just can’t figure out what to wear with these.

These tribal vegan boots may initially appear to be squarely in the tribal / hippie department but their somewhat 80s styling (they’re actually referred to as “retro” by the seller) does have a certain air of hipsterism you can use to your advantage. They come from Thailand and are made out of tribal fabrics by an enterprise working to empower local tribal women. These particular boots are made out of fabrics made by Akha tribal women, but the Etsy shop where I found them features stuff made from fabrics spun by the Hmong tribe as well. There are all kinds of vegan shoes, sandals and boots (including knee highs) in all kinds of mad colours. As with all stuff made out of tribal style arts, you can wear it full hippie with the whole harem trousers or sarong fabric dress thing or you could match it with more urban, classic stuff to just give a touch of hippie. Either way, I’m loving the black version.

Oh and they also do some shoes for men and some of them are quite unusual. I like these.

Well, I was looking for some cheesy heart shoes to blog about for Valentine’s Day but instead I found these TUK “frankenheart” shoes that look a bit more suited to Halloween. Still, they’re weird, they have hearts on them and they seem to be stitched together roughly, like a Frankenstein monster. Sounds about right for my Valentine’s Day, then!

I’m not sure why you might want heels that look like they’ve been cut out of Frankenstein, but they’re green and purple and they made me laugh. There are some better pics of them online elsewhere, but so far I’ve only managed to find them in size 4, apart from Amazon.co.uk that has them in 3 different sizes. If you’re feeling pin upy, retroish, romantic and ghoulish at the same time, then these are the perfect shoes for you.

These pretty, polka-dotty platforms may not be exactly right for the current snowy weather, but they are sooo cute and will be perfect for spring. I can’t tell whether the front platform is made of woven raffia or whether it’s some sort of fabric or faux leather but either way it’s pretty cheery and the ties look like they’d look really cute on. I wish there was a picture of someone wearing them so I could see exactly what they look like on, but you can’t have everything.
