Funky vegan open lace up heels

blue and red vegan heels How cute are these??? OK, that was a rhetorical question, but I feel I should answer it anyway – very cute!

They’re mostly canvas, so quite casual, but quite retro and even a bit pin up girl with it.
The heels are very stable-looking, so I reckon these would make fun and quirky every day shoes if you like wearing heels but don’t always want to go full out retro femme fatale.
They have lots of hearts on them – in the lining as well as a big one on the bottom of the sole. I just love all those little nice touches.

You can get them from Amazon.

Neon pink vegan canvas wedges

I guess neon pink isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, otherwise how can you explain the fact that these are now 5 quid in the Office sale and their differently coloured counterparts are more like 36? Either way, these make fun summer shoes with a whole espadrille sole thing going for them, plus a light canvas upper and a slight 4cm wedge.

Great if bright pink is your thing, not so much if not. I’ve tagged them with retro as they are somewhat 80s.

You can get them in the Office sale.

Weird vegan black and white perforated shoes

weird vegan shoes Here’s a pair of weird perforated black and white vegan shoes I found on the Next site. To be honest, I am not sure what I think about these. I’d be interested to hear your opinions as I just cannot make up my mind!

They are certainly unusual, somewhat retro and definitely summery. I think with the right outfit they could look pretty impressive. The right outfit being something quirky and unusual as well. Something like a giant staw hat and oddly shaped summer dress.

So what do you think? Would you wear these? What would you wear them with?

You can get them from the Next website.

Cut out high heel vegan oxfords

cut out vegan oxford shoes Aren’t these fun? These cute oxford-like shoes would look great as a summer alternative to the less cut-outy original, or you could wear them with boldly coloured socks or tights for the full effect.

They are pretty retro, but the cut outs make them stand out from the plethora of other oxfords around.

I reckon these are pretty cool shoes that can be turned into a statement or just allowed to blend in quietly with an overall look. Not too expensive at 35 UKP.

You can get them from Next.

Vegan stripey nautical espadrille wedges

Yup, yet another nautically-themed shoe in the Schuh sale. If yesterday’s one didn’t get you all hot and bothered, then this one may well do the trick.

This one’s called Marron Rope. It’s got a striped sailor shirt-like material and the ankle ties are made of rope to work the theme even more.
The fact that they are stripey and anchor-free means that you don’t have to go all sailor girl to wear them. You could match them with total land lover stuff and still look hot.

They also currently cost only £20, which is always a nice bonus (unless you’re buying something that should cost a fiver).

You can get them at the Shuch Sale.

Interchangeable vegan wood-look heels

Interchangeable vegan heels Here’s a really cool concept! Thanks to Marta at SwapTopShoes.com for letting me know.

These shoes basically come with interchangeable tops, so you can get more wear out of each pair by changing the way the top half looks. There are all kinds of different soles and tops to choose from, from flip flops to these sort of heels I have here.

I think it’s cool as it means you can take one pair of shoes on holiday with you, plus a bunch of tops for them that pack up quite small. Then you can just swap them round to go with your outfits.
Here’s what the bottom bit looks like without a top.
vegan interchangeable heels without top
As you can see, the tops clip onto those bits down the side. I’ve not tried them myself to see how strong those bits are. They’d need to be quite strong clips to keep the top on through heavy use!

You can get these and the rest of the range at SwapTopShoes.com

Pretty and ethical vegan wedges

vegan wedges These funky vegan wedges from Beyond Skin are fun, stylish and… half price! They’re made of cotton / canvas material and so are very summery and light.
They come in a few colours, I very much like the black and white combination, because it’s pretty eternal. You could use them to spice up a simple outfit or fit in with a posh one.

They are handmade in Spain at an ethically sound factory, which is always good to hear.

You can get them from Beyond Skin.

Vegan cork heeled nautical slingbacks

vegan cork heeled nautical slingbacks Here’s a fun pair of cork heeled nautical-themed slingbacks from Rocket Dog. As usual, they make good, functional shoes, go with both retro and modern outfits and, more often than not have a reasonably wide fit that means even women with wider feet can wear them (don’t hold me to it, though: their shoes seem to vary quite a lot in fit). The wide heel means they are quite stable even if you’re not used to heels, which makes them pretty much perfect for women who want to go for that so-called feminine look without sacrificing too much comfort.

You can currently get them in the Office Sale for £30.

Simple vegan metallic mules

vegan metallic mules Another fun vegan find in the Office sale. These simple metallic mules look like they have wooden heels but they’re actually synthetic. It’s a shame, but it also means that the bits that look like letter are synthetic as well. They come in a few different colours including an all black version and only cost £10.

Personally, I’ve never had much luck getting very far with high-heeled mules, but it’s a popular and useful look for many, so it’s good to know there’s a handy vegan version out.

Match them with white shorts, a bikini top, bubble gum and big fake boobs and discover your inner bimbo with these mules or wear them with something a bit less drastic. Either way they’re funky.

You can get them from Office.

Crazy 60s inspired vegan heels

crazy vegan heels Just look at these mad heels! Yes, that’s a clear heel they’ve got, just like the carved lucite heels of yore. I’m not sure this is lucite (in fact, I’m pretty sure it isn’t), but it’s still pretty damn cool. I like the pattern as well. It actually reminds me of summer blankets from the late 60s / early 70s. I’ve put them on as party shoes cause you could (and should) definitely wear them out somewhere fancy, but the pattern makes them almost more suitable for being day shoes, I think.

My first thought when I saw these was that the big bow was going to be made of leather, but no! Add that to Irregular Choice’s (for it is they who make these shoes) recent habit of lining their shoes with velvet and you’ve got a very nice pair of non-leather heels. To-ta-lly brilliant!

You can get these from Schuh.

Awesome vegan star peep toe wedges

vegan star peep toe wedgesOh wow how absolutely cool! These super funky vegan peep toe wedges from TUK are so wonderfully starry!

If you’re into the whole “new retro” movement, you’ll love these. They have it all – stars, contrasting nautical star closures, a good-sized wedge and a bow. Black and red is a very joyous colour combo and I really really like the star print (as you may have gathered).

To be honest, you’ll need to work quite hard to move these away from a full on goth / alternative rocker look, but on the other hand, they’d make even the simplest black dress into a full on statement outfit.

I found these on a site called eveninglady.co.uk, which seems to have plenty of sexy alternative / burlesque / tasteful stripper vegan shoes.

Mad vegetarian Union Jack Heels

vegan union jack heels I’m not really very patriotic at all, but these shoes are pretty cute. I was inside an actual Schuh shop this weekend and got a chance to sniff out a few more vegan shoes I’d noticed online but could never quite confirm or deny their make up.

These ones are by Irregular choice and are made of felt, so I have marked them as vegetarian, as felt is usually made out of wool which is an animal product. Still, there is no leather or anything like that in them.

I’m sure they’d look well as part of an ironic outfit, as much as they would as part of a patriotic one. They are like something the queen would wear if she were like 50 years younger and cool.

You can get them from Schuh.

Vegan bridal shoes

vegan bridal shoes As you’re reading this, I am actually in Berlin for a wedding. I have arranged for this post to come up with these fine and lovely bridal heels from Beyond Skin, before I most likely disappear off for the weekend. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Weddings must be the type of occasion when it’s hard to find decent vegan shoes to go with your dress, so it’s good to know Beyond Skin are doing a whole bridal range with a bunch of different styles to suit just about everything. The shoes are well made and the company is eco-friendly and ethical.

Take a look at the Beyond Skin site.

casual vegan canvas wedges

casual vegan low wedges Well, it’s chucking it down with rain today, but summer is still sort of in the air. Here’s a pair of pale blue low wedges I found on the Debenhams site. They’re made out of canvas and look sort of trainery but very girly with it.
I used to have a very similar vintage 80s red pair that was too small so I gave it away. While these are pale blue and so not quite as cool, they’re still pretty neat. They also come in a sort of creamy white colour, though I would guess that would go a dirty grey colour very quickly.

You can get these at Debenhams. They’re only 16 pounds, too!

3 colour vegan t-bar heels

colourful vegan t-bar heels Here’s a pair of jolly t-bar heels found on the Debenhams website. They’re only 19 pounds right now and look like decent enough party shoes for the price. They are the sort of shoes that could look quite classy with a reasonably expensive outfit. Sure, they’re not quite designer, but they are definitely trendy and stylish.

I like the colour combination as well (though they do come in a more purple combo too with is also rather nice).

You can get them from Debenhams.
